GOLDFILLED:
WHAT IS 14K GOLD FILLED?
It is a process of manufacturing jewelery components, where the raw material (brass) is mechanically covered by pressure with a layer of gold of 12 or 14 karat gold . The weight of the precious metal deposited is 1/20 of the total weight of the component.
Furthermore, this type of finish, being much thicker than normal plating, on average 50 to 100 times thicker, is considerably more durable.
It is therefore more difficult for a scratch to reveal the underlying metal.
Two great advantages of GF jewelery are first of all the difficulty of distinguishing it from an all-gold jewel, furthermore the price will be significantly lower and therefore easier to purchase.
Cleaning
Cleaning is also very simple for GF jewellery: they can be cleaned using normal neutral soaps and dried by dabbing them with a lint-free towel.
